Grön Fuels is a 65,000 barrel per day renewable fuels facility producing Sustainable Aviation Fuel, Renewable Diesel, Renewable Naphtha, and Renewable Propane as low carbon transportation fuels. Grön Fuels utilizes Haldor Topsoe’s Hydroflex™ technology and Alfa Laval pretreatment technology, FidelisH2 patented technologies for hydrogen production utilizing Babcock & Wilcox’s biomass boiler technology and CCS. The Project benefits from substantial existing infrastructure at its host site, the Port of Greater Baton Rouge, including a recently completed unit train terminal, a large grain elevator at the site, a deepwater port accommodating transoceanic vessels, and interconnection with the Bengal Pipeline, providing access to the Colonial Pipeline System and the Products (SE) Pipe Line (PPL). Because the project is not integrated with fossil refinery complexes, it has leveraged the Fidelis RACER® design framework, utilizing proven technologies to optimize efficiency, maximize the mitigation of CO2e throughout the plant, and develop a long-term capital investment program to continuously improve on its CO2e.
CSRS and Fides provides a Project Management Organization integrated with the client team to manage both the EPC scope of work and Owner’s Scope of Work. Fides supported Gron-selected technology integration with the EPC. The EPC scope of work includes pre-treatment to convert plant-based oils and used cooking oils for processing, a hydrotreater, hydrogen plant and wastewater treatment. Import of feedstocks and export of finished products includes a marine barge terminal, rail and truck facilities and pipeline. CSRS managed and submitted project permits including the Air Permit, USACE 404/408/Section 10 permits and LPDES.
Owners Scope includes offsite pipeline connection for Natural Gas, Hydrogen and C02, 200 MW Utility Substation for power supply, management of design and approval process for rail facilities through Union Pacific, conceptual design of import and export facilities for marine, rail, truck and pipeline, water wells and approval through regulatory agencies, offsite effluent discharge pipeline to the Mississippi River and approval through regulatory agencies, site data connectivity, solar facilities, and water connection to parish utility. Also, CSRS performed boundary and topographical survey, sitework design, integration of design with USACE and LPDES permitting requirements and traffic modeling, conceptual design of roadway and site access improvements.
